After eight-plus months of planning, a gruelling fitness regime and a flight from Australia to London, Gary and Rachel Corbettâs - e-Bike Cycle Tourists - plan to set a new world e-bike long distance record took a major step forward at the weekend with the delivery of arguably the record attempt's most important ingredient â two Haibike Trekking RX e-bikes from e-bikeshop.co.uk. Following a comprehensive rundown on the use of the bikes from e-bike shop owner Martin Brown and the addition to the bikes of various after market accessories necessary for a crack at the coveted world record of 16,000-plus kilometres, it was finally time to do what Gary and Rachel had been waiting so long for â to go riding. While it was with a fair degree of trepidation that they climbed aboard their new Haibike's for their first ever ride on a new generation e-bike, it only took two or three laps of the e-bike shop car park to be blown away by the performance of their new machines. What a revelation it was â basically there is no other way to describe the experience of riding the Haibike xDuro Trekking RX than âf=*^%#g amazingâ. Talk about impossible to wipe the smiles off their faces. Power, smoothness of ride, looks, technology and ease of use â the Haibike Trekking e-bike has it all and more. But doing laps around a car park is one thing, what would the bikes be like to ride on a longer, more demanding outing where the electrical assist is really tested out? It was with that thought in mind that they set out on a perfect autumn day for a ride around the Surrey district to give their Haibike's a real workout. You name the challenge and the Haibike's were handed it. Pushed hard in Eco, Tour, Sport and Turbo modes the e-bikes never missed a beat. With a full range of 27 gears to choose from in conjunction with assistance from the abovementioned e-bike modes, there wasn't a hill that posed even the slightest of problems. Such was the smoothness of the ride and the power of the electrical assistance, that Mrs e-Bike Cycle Tourist in all seriousness claimed that she felt like she should be buckling up her seat belt! And better still for someone who worried that the bikes were going to be too âhigh techâ to ride when she first saw them, she was in fact delighted with just how easy they were to use. Gear changes posed no problems, the upright riding position proved extremely comfortable â an important consideration when planning to cycle 20,000 or so kilometres over 12 months of cycling â and with the help of the electrical assist the kilometres just flew past. Also, given how hard Mr e-Bike Cycle Touristâs Haibike was pushed over the maiden 58 kilometre ride in all four modes of operation â in contrast Mrs e-Bike Cycle Tourist mainly stuck to Eco mode â there was still 45% battery life left at the end of the day. With battery usage a major consideration in the planning for the e-bike record attempt given the daily 75 to 100km target, 58km with 45% battery usage at the end of an undulating and often steep ride was good news indeed. The bottom line with just three days to go until the e-Bike Cycle Tourists head off from the e-bikeshop.co.ukâs sales center in Farnham, Surrey on their world record ride is that they are confident their new Haibike xDuro Trekking RX e-bikes are more than up to the task. With just days to go before the e-Bike Cycle Tourists head off from Farnham in Surrey on Thursday, April 23 in their attempt to set a new world e-bike long distance record over 12-plus months of cycling! On Sunday 13th April the E-bikeshop Owners Club got set for a great days riding at Swinley Forest. The club is filled with a great mix of people, from ladies to gents of all ages. The main aim is to enjoy eBiking in the UK and most of all have FUN with fellow eBikers! We all met mid morning in the car park for a quick ride brief, although mid morning, the sun was already out in full glory for what was set to be a fantastic day! It wasn't long before we were hitting the first trail, warming up on the mild blue run before joining the slightly more technical red route. On this ride we were also joined by Alex & Nick from EMTB Coaching, offering some great practical trail advice. Thanks to Nick for looking after Kirsty - One of our newest members. The trails were fast and smooth thanks to the great weather. The slight rain fall the day before meant that there was little dust, allowing us to power on and keep the pace going. Due to one small mechanical, we stopped for 10 minutes (to replace a broken chain link). Two other riders flew out of the trail, one stopped and looked at my eBike. 'Thats Cheating' he mumbled whilst pointing at the Bosch motor. I looked at him and said 'Wouldn't say that here mate, there's more of us than there is you'. As he looked sheepishly around and realised he was in the middle of the E-bikeshop Owners ride and there was 14 of us dotted around them... Brilliant! We gave him a quick demonstration and allowed him to go for a quick blast, which followed by a smile, a few questions and then the question - 'Where can I get one of these?' It's a common occurrence us eBikers have to go through. In fact I must have counted at least 5 people that had a go whilst on our ride.. 30 seconds on the eMTB and they 'get it!' We did stop at 'Jump Valley' for a short while for some 'air time' and general eBike nattering. Unfortunately we did have one fall here from fellow club member Bernie, however due to his new body armour (purchased the day before) he was back up and smiling again in no time. The eBikes certainly attract a lot of attention whilst out riding. So many people asking, is this a demo day? No! We replied - We are all eBike owners. After approx. 18 miles of trail bashing the ride concluded with much needed tea and coffee at the cafĂŠ on-site at Swinley forest. To sum it up? What a great day, joined by a great bunch of people, great trails, fantastic weather and of course plenty of smiles. The feedback was tremendous, every single rider had a great time. That's what it's all about! The E-Bikeshop Owners Club is a closed group of riders, if you have purchased a eBike from us and want to get involved, please get in touch.. Our annual 2015 Haibike Demo day was a huge success, we'd say it was our best to date! Here's a report back about how the electric mountain bike demo day panned out. Setting Fortunately due to the location this year, we didn't have to touch much tarmac at all, it was literally straight out the gate and onto the first set of bridleways that lead to the trails at Blackdown. The lovely Strawberry House had everything we could want, it was the perfect for the Haibikes to really be in their element. Briefing Each ride began with an initial briefing to make sure everyone understood where we were going and what we intended to ride. Followed by a product demonstration on how to operate the eBike by Owner Martin Brown. Now to the riding The ride had plenty of climbs as well as some faster downhill. It gave everyone the chance to experience first hand, what the bikes had to offer across the beautiful singletrack at the top of the South Downs. Each ride covered over 1300ft of elevation over approx 1.5 hours. It was pretty up and down, perfect for the electric mountain bikes! Heres what it looked like on the map: One rider had his Strava enabled on the ride and he set over 10 new (unbeatable?) King of the Mountains.. Oooops! In particular the 'Have A Cigar' route where we shaved off 10 seconds. The ride was surprisingly good with no breaks or punctures picked up, which considering there were up to 15 bikes out on each ride was pretty staggering. We did have one minor alteration, but it was quickly resolved. 2015 eBikes available We had a great mixture of bikes available on the day, everything from hardtails to full sussers and even bigger hitting enduro bikes. Among these were great mixture of Bosch / Yamaha equipped bikes, which was perfect for getting a feel for which one suited each rider best. We stopped at a couple of occasions during each ride for people to swap around to get a feel for different models. What a few had to say Many thanks for organising a great demo day yesterday. Both Paul and I thoroughly enjoyed the chance to try out the Haibike in fantastic surroundings - Tony & Paul I just wanted to let you know that we enjoyed our visit to your demo day - Mike Just to thank you for a great day yesterday! Great to ride with other owners and potential owners. I look forward to the next event - Chris Many thanks for a great afternoon I really enjoyed the ride out and meeting the other guys and hearing their experiences - Paul Hey, Really enjoyed yesterday, was nice to be around other eBike riders and the trails were fantastic - Bernie Can I say thank you..... I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday afternoon, and thought you guys did a fantastic job! - Danny Thank you for a really great demo day on Sunday, which my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. - Ken Firstly, thanks for the demo on Sunday, it really was great fun, and it certainly helped me to make up my mind" - David After the ride After each ride we had a de-brief to make sure everyone had a great time and answer any further questions people may have over a nice hot drink. We also had plenty of food available from pizza to salads, thanks to the ladies for running around looking after everyone after each ride! (Particularly as it was Mothers Day!) Everyone really appreciated it. Thank you We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the ride, in particular the guys who travelled down with their own bikes to ride beside us. In all it was a great vibe, a great opportunity to demo the bikes and a good place to network with other Haibike owners alike. We also want to say thank you to Haibike for making such brilliant machines! The passed the test of the Great British trails which can be tough at the best of times. Last but not least we want to say thanks to the owner of Strawberry House who let us host the event there, they also provided great hospitality. A perfect day all round! There are more pictures of the event on our facebook album here & new album here. To everyone on the day, please feel free to tag photos and share as you like. Also check back as its likely more photos will crop up, so we will add these as and when we render them. If you have any of your own photos from the day, please feel free to post onto our Facebook page.  Missed this one? We have lots of events throughout the year, from owner rides, demo days to exhibitions. E-bikeshop are proud to announce that from today we are an authorised Gocycle eBike premium reseller in the South of England on the Hampshire / Surrey border. This means that we will have the full range of electric bikes, all colours and all accessories on the shelf to hand. Gocycle G2 is the worlds first versatile, lightweight and compact electric bike. Its unique approach offers a true riding position despite its compact design.  Simple, clean and efficient  Director of e-bikeshop Martin Brown says: We are excited to be working alongside Gocycle to promote these eBikes in the UK. After all it is a British design, designed in London by an ex Formula One engineer! At present we are extremely successful with the eMTB, Trekking & Road electric bikes that we already offer, however we have been searching for a while for something that fits alongside our current full sized eBike range, as a stowable bike that can be stored when not in use. This is where the Gocycle fits perfectly (excuse the pun!). The Gocycle G2 also benefits from the fact that you can compact it down and stow it away in confined storage spaces. This is a real benefit over other eBikes, for all those looking to store their lovely cycle, be it in the boat, back of the car, under your desk at work or even under the stairs. Gocycle is the answer! Why we like the Gocycle G2? E-bikeshop took a liking to the neat electric bike after having one on loan for a while and fell in love with the true practicalities of the Gocycle G2. It's so simple to use, you literally just get on and pedal. Everything is worked out beneath you as the electric motor in the front wheel matches perfectly what you are putting into the rear wheel. It means that the power is very balanced and makes it a breeze to cycle around. It's just like riding a regular bike, but you can take your mind away from things like gear changes, power switches etc. and concentrate on what's going on around you. The fact that you can communicate using your mobile phone to control the bike's functions in different ways is really unique! You can read all of the Gocycle G2 features. We expect the Gocycle to be popular among our client base as a nice addition to their existing electric bike collection. We are holding stock of the full Gocycle accessory packs to compliment the eBike perfectly, we offer all sorts of options from commuter packs with mudguards, lights etc. to travel packs with folding pedals and storage / carry cases. Check it out here - Gocycle G2. Expect a full review shortly as we put the Gocycle G2 through its paces. Watch this space!
As you know we are very pro-active in the eBike world, each year we like to do something new to promote the use of eBikes, whilst achieving new records / goals at the same time. Last year you will note we achieved a new eBike world record for the fastest eBike across the Isle of Man TT course, this year is no different as we plan to push the bar one step further. This year's plan is on a slightly longer & larger scale than before as we plan to push the eBikes even further to a possible 20,000km across Europe! We introduce our rider Mr Gary Corbett below, who along with his partner Rachel, will be pushing our Haibike Trekking RX eBikes to the limit over the duration of this new challenge.. Cyclingâs Elixir of Youth and the Plan to Set a New World E-Bike Distance Record Itâs a scenario all of us are familiar with as we get older ⌠no matter how hard you train and no matter how hard you try, you are no longer able to replicate the physical achievements of your youth. Gary and Rachel Corbett - the E-Bike Cycle Tourists - set off from London in late April in a bid to set a new world record for the longest ever e-bike journey. Sure, the head may be older and wiser, but the body just isnât up to the physical challenges of 10, 20, 30 or even more years ago. To put it bluntly it is a fact of life we all have to come terms with â ageing sucks. But thanks to new technology there is a solution â in the cycling world at least â that not only helps 40, 50, 60, and 70 year olds cycle as far and as with as much vigour as they did in their youth, but even helps people with health and physical problems ride a bicycle often for the first time in years. The elixir of youth for ageing cyclists and anyone else keen to enjoy the thrill of cycling, is an electric bike â otherwise known as e-bikes or pedelecs â and despite pockets of cynicism and derision from (mostly young) cyclists who see e-bikes as no more than battery powered motorbikes, the fact of the matter is that e-bikes are very quickly becoming the new frontier in the cycling world. As an aside, it would be interesting to be able to peer into a crystal ball to see how many gung-ho 20 and 30-something cyclists of today who ridicule anyone who rides an e-bike actually take to riding one in the future when they themselves start to suffer from aching joints or weight and health problems. Huge Advances in E-Bike Technology Such has been the huge leap in e-bike technology and design over the past 10 or so years that the quality of electric bikes has gone from nothing short of a bad joke to cutting-edge technology in the wake of manufacturing giants such as Bosch, Yamaha, Panasonic, and Shimano taking up the challenge to develop state-of-the-art e-bike electric motors and highly advanced battery systems. With hundreds of bicycle manufacturers now incorporating this new technology into their bicycle designs, millions of people around the world are now reaping the born again benefits of e-bike riding. Included in that ever-growing list of e-bike converts are my wife Rachel and I â from now on known as the E-Bike Cycle Tourists â who would never have entertained the thought of riding an electrically assisted bicycle just a few short years ago. But times and attitudes change and like those millions of people worldwide who have jumped on the e-bike bandwagon, we just love them. To cut a long story short, our transformation from knowing nothing about e-bikes to becoming nothing short of e-bike ambassadors basically goes something like this. A career newspaper journalist, I was made redundant from a leading Australian newspaper company â as have far too many other journos worldwide in this internet obsessed world. What to do? Reinvent myself of course! Now a few short years down the track thanks to the burgeoning organised cycle touring industry, I have written two e-books on the subject and am contracted to a number of organised cycle tour companies to write blogs, feature articles and to generally improve their written website content. And what do you do if your job is to write about cycle tourism â go cycle touring of course! Never one to sit around and do nothing, my âfact findingâ tours over the past few years have seen me ride well in excess of 30,000kms completing guided, self-guided, bike and barge and solo long distance cycle tours in Europe, South America, Asia and Australia. But what about Rachel? While she was able to complete some of the shorter guided and bike and barge tours, the longer self-supported tours that require carrying anything up to 25kg of gear on traditional touring bikes were, to put it simply, too physically demanding for her to come along. With the lure of another long distance cycle tour beckoning in 2015, a solution had to be found to the problem that would allow both of us to ride together. The solution? An e-bike! Given that you can use as little or as much electric assist as you want while you peddle on an electric bicycle, they provide the perfect solution for Rachel to be able to effectively iron out the hills and to tame annoying headwinds. With electric bicycles providing the answer to enable us to complete a long distance self-supported cycle tour together, and promote our love of a clean environment at the same time, the planning for an extended cycle tour was taken one giant step further â to set a new world e-bike long distance record. After all, how dull would life be if you didnât get out of your comfort zone every now and then! And that, in a long winded way, is the story behind the E-Bike Cycle Touristsâ World E-Bike Long Distance Record attempt. Follow us as we try to better the current unofficial world record of 16,047kms â the official Guinness World Records record is a measly 6721kms â over the course of about 12 months of cycling in the United Kingdom, Europe and Scandinavia. It should prove to be an amazing journey! We will be blogging up to and during the new challenge, so please make sure to pop back and follow this exciting journey.
Following the success of last years event we are pleased to announce our annual Haibike Electric Bike Demo Day for 2015. We are excited to show you what 2015 has to offer by taking you for an action packed blast around off road trails and forestry in the South East of England. This years event will be held at Strawberry House in West Sussex. This country house offers the perfect setting for our demo day, across the top of the South Downs, with ample parking, food refreshments on site, expert eBike advice and of course some fantastic scenery along the ride! Book the first time slot, then if you are feeling ambitious you can always join us on the 2nd or 3rd ride! As one of our guests, you'll also be able to grab a free bite to eat on us too. Perfect! There will be nothing too serious within the route and we will have a mix of abilities so, therefore, don't want anyone to be out of their comfort zone. There will also be some good descents and most importantly some decent climbs. The ride will be led by a qualified cycle instructor, who is also one of our senior technicians, so he will be able to assist you in using the bike during the ride should you have any queries. The demo day will be held at Strawberry House, West Sussex. We will email full directions and details for all those who successfully register a place ahead of the ride. Half way round there will be an opportunity to swap bikes with others so you can try more than one eBike. We will have a mix of the latest Haibike sDuro (Yamaha) & xDuro (Bosch) 2015 electric mountain bikes to hand. Please Note: We will be taking you OFF ROAD, so please bring appropriate clothing, helmet (mandatory) & gloves. Also, spare change of clothes would be good for your travels home. If you require the use of SPD shoes, please feel free to bring your shoes and pedals along and we can fit them prior to the ride. However this may negate your opportunity to swap bikes half way round. Sunday 15th March 2015: THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED!!
This year we will again be at The Bike Show (Excel, London) for 2015. This year is set to be the biggest yet with over 50K visitors and more than 300 brands showing off the latest and greatest in the cycling world. Martin will be attending on both weekend days (14th & 15th February 2015) to offer the very latest advice on electric bikes and to talk anyone through the new ranges on offer for the 2015 line up. We are taking appointments on either of the 2 days for new and existing customers to join Martin from e-bikeshop for a short meeting to discuss the new eBikes available & give the chance to answer all those important technical questions. Please book your time below.. This year we will be focussing on the Raleigh & Haibike 2015 electric bike ranges. Both stands are close by, you can find them at the following stand numbers: Raleigh & Haibike @ Stand LB40-30.
It isn't often a bike manufacturer brings out its own clothing range. But Haibike are true riders and in true rider fashion (excuse the pun!) I am excited to bring you an introduction to the new clothing range from Haibike for 2015. It's a small range but allows rider and bike matched gear. Most of our customers are so proud about their Haibike eBikes, why not wear the kit too! The small range consists of a few rider essentials, the gear is top quality to match the bike products on offer, it all comes in at an affordable price too considering the look and feel of the garments.  Haibike All Mountain Shirt This shirt is well designed and offers a rider cut fit. Its breathable and offers full UV protection to the rider. The lightweight, breathable and fast drying material used means you can ride sweat free and it'll dry fast too if you hit a quick rain shower. Built into the front of the Haibike All Mountain Shirt is a half cut zip which offers a small chin guard to save any discomfort whilst out on the trails. To the rear it features a handy zipped pocket too which is tapered to match the unique design of the shirt. Featuring the unique Haibike logo across the front and smaller style logo on the rear this jersey is made from 100% polyester.  Haibike All Mountain Shorts Well you can't have the shirt and not the shorts to match! Or mix it up and wear at different times.. These tidy shorts offer full movement whilst at full pelt. The stretchy fabric offers superior comfort whilst being resistant to the saddle and other rubbing areas. It gives a feel of freedom, rather than a tight set of shorts that feel controlling when you need to move around. The All Mountain shorts offer a tough, resistant back panel to make sure they stand up to tough hits in the saddle and the occasional fall! They offer a front zipper for any 'wild ones' while out on the ride with top poppers to ensure they don't come undone unannounced.  Haibike All Mountain Rain Jacket The new Haibike Rain Jacket for winter / spring / just about anytime essential in the UK. Made from a lightweight material that means its not heavy to wear and can be rolled up and tucked away neatly ready for any occasion. This new All Mountain jacket is both water & wind resistant, whilst being breathable at the same time, a clever combination of materials means that it does all of this and still comes in at just 185g! It also features fully welded zippers and seams to keep any moisture out. The rain jacket offers a neat little hood with ring pulls each side to pull in tight if required. Front full length zip & velcro cuffs. All in, a nice fitted style jacket that you could even stroll up to the pub in!  When can you get your hands on it? We are expecting the new 2015 clothing to land just in time for spring, its actually available to order right now in various sizes through the e-bikeshop site for delivery as soon as it lands here. We expect it to be very popular with new and existing Haibike owners alike
Have you got an older Bosch Classic+ eBike and a newer Active / Performance line eBike? Tired of swapping chargers over or carrying 2 around with you? Well Bosch have come up with an ingenious answer! Finally all those with the 2 different Bosch eBike styles can use one charger for both battery applications. By using the new inexpensive Bosch adaptor you can use your Performance line battery charger to charge both batteries. Simply just plug the new adaptor into your Performance charger and it doubles up as a Classic+ charging unit. This converts all 2014 onwards Bosch battery chargers to work with the 2013 or earlier Bosch eBike batteries. This should go without saying, but it obviously cannot be used in reverse to charge a later Bosch eBike battery using the older style charger. The Bosch adaptors are in stock now & available now to order from e-bikeshop. You can find these on the dedicated Battery Charger Adaptor page.
Earlier this month we visited Haibike UK to undertake some special dealer official training in anticipation of the new Yamaha powered sDuro electric bikes in the 2015 Haibike eBike range. We strive to exceed in the knowledge and aftersales that we can offer on the eBikes that we sell. So its very important for us to be certified by the manufacturers Yamaha & Haibike themselves. Having visited essential training courses in the past we were extremely excited to get the low down on the new Yamaha eBike system. Although we have already had the Yamaha eBike system in our workshops to test the product and ensure that we can strip down, support & offer the correct spares, just in case they are required further down the line. It was great to cover any issues that we had not previously come across and how to address them correctly. The course started out understanding the product range of new Haibike sDuro eBikes for 2015. We then studied the individual components of the Yamaha electric bike system in detail. Including items like the battery, display, controls, motor & charger.
This year some of the e-bikeshop team will be available to meet at The Cycle Show 2014 @ Birmingham NEC. On the Sunday (28/09/2014) we will be taking bookings in advance for our new or existing customers to talk through the electric bike range and show what 2015 has to offer. This years cycle show is set to be the biggest yet with the expansion into another hall and more exhibitors than ever showing off what's hot for 2015! We will obviously be focussing on the eBikes. We will be happy to work through the Haibike, Raleigh & Moustache 2015 electric bike ranges. Some of which will also be available to demo on the electric bike test track. Brand Stands - Haibike D29 Moustache K200 Raleigh D41 I can be called on the Sunday on this number in the event of any issues - 01252 279 279 All appointments are on a one-to-one basis so spaces are limited throughout the day. Please book below and we will return via email to confirm your appointment time - Appointment form now expired.
You may have seen our recent articles supporting Mat Dibb to set a new electric bike world record on the IOM... Well last weekend Mat set off to attempt the fastest man round the Isle of Man TT mountain bike course. Mat, who suffers from chronic kidney disease, will soon require a transplant. Mat came up with the idea of riding the Isle of Man TT mountain bike course on an electric bike to raise money for South West Thames Kidney Fund & also set a new world record at the same time! You can read the opening article here. The original record was set by Conor Cummins. Conor completed the course in 2 hours 41 minutes. This included stopping along the way for a cup of tea at his mums house. Something that Mat replicated on the new record challenge. On the 14th September 2014 Mat set off to the Isle of Man, with his support team & electric bike with a goal to become a new Guinness World Record Holder. We are pleased to announce that Mat completed the course in a staggeringly low time of 1 hour 28 minutes. That smashes the previous record by over an hour!.. Very impressed! Here Mat is getting ready and set up to start the World Record Challenge, last few preps, GoPro being mounted ready. Calm before the storm. Setting off the start line in full anticipation of setting the new Electric Bike World Record! Mat looking rather serious in mid flow here, full attack position, overtaking the boys in Lycra! Mat crosses the line in record breaking time! Looking rather exhausted, the first thing to greet him is his son jumping for a big hug, one proud son right there. The official Guinness World Record lap time now set of 1 Hour 28 minutes & 37 seconds. A rather happy looking Mat as reality sets in that he's set a new World Record on an Electric Bike So there we have it - The fastest man round the Isle of Man TT Mountain Bike Course on an electric bike. Mat completed the course on the Bosch powered Moustache Dimanche electric road bike provided by e-bikeshop. Mat told us what he thought about the bike after setting the world record - "The Moustache Dimanche never missed a beat and without question played a fundamental part in achieving my world record. It's a real wolf in sheep's clothing (a racing sheep!)." We are privileged to have helped Mat complete his challenge, Mat said - "It was the outstanding support from e-bikeshop, and the opportunity to discuss technical requirements in finite detail with Martin Brown that brought this world record within reach. The rest was down to me on the day." Mat actually tracked his route on Strava. This showed just how tough the course was. He travelled a distance of 38.2miles in total covering over 2800 ft of elevation throughout. The toughest part was the last climb at over 1300 ft of climbing. Of which he got to race back down the other side on this fast electric road bike! Lets hope the locals don't come chasing as Mat sets 32 new unbeatable king of the mountains during the event! Oooops! Building up to the event Mat has raised over ÂŁ1432 with donations still flowing in. Please help Mat to reach his target of ÂŁ2k raised for South West Kidney Fund. Don't forget although the event is over you can still show support on the official event facebook page here.
E-bikeshop visit Eurobike 2014 in Friedrichshafen (Germany) to view the latest line up of prototype and production run electric bikes for 2015. The show was very interesting and we tried to cover most of it in the week that we were there. The show is made up of over 1300 exhibitors from 54 different countries. Its the best place to go to see all that is evolving in the eBike world. We were going to picture everything to show you from the comfort of your own home, although this was almost instantly deemed impossible due to the sheer size of the show! Below are just some of the pictures of the most interesting products that we saw at EuroBike 2014. Enjoy. Here it is: The worlds first full carbon mountain eBike! Sex on wheels? This ones the prototype. Every wanted to commute in the rain? Its Ok I suppose until that big gush of wind comes along! Panasonic have been working on some new eBike display, this is the first LCD display to feature within the Panasonic system. 2015 Nicolai here which we thought was a real integral way of mounting the Bosch eBike motor and battery, Look really smart, how practical it will be to have the battery in the firing line of the front wheel we don't know? The new craze! Fat bikes, but with a Bosch motor? Makes sense! This is new for the 2015 Haibike line up. Conway have stashed the Bosch battery inside a huge box, why you may ask? Well it appears you can have your battery covered and all your essentials stored inside neatly. An inside look at the new Continental Pinion gear box system, enough going on in there? Nice new paint job and a spec too for the new Moustache Samedi 27/9 eMTB for 2015. Ever get home and wonder what it would be like to not have to wash your bike? Here you go you can have your very own bike washing station! Our favourite - The new Haibike NDURO PRO 2015 model. Set up ready for full on enduro riding! Features Nyon for 2015. Plenty taking a closer look at the new Shimano Steps eBike system. We took it for a spin on the test track. Crazy way of adding power to your regular bike, we think it looks rather unattractive? Had to picture this, its rather old school now to bolt a motor onto your existing bike, but there are some manufacturers still trying to make bling equipment. A sneaky glimpse of the new 2015 Haibike AllMtn Pro due to us shortly! Here is how Flyer mount the Bosch eBIke motor onto their electric MTB. We at e-bikeshop are proud to announce we are supporting local eBiker with an Official Guinness World Record attempt to be the fastest around the Isle of Man TT Mountain Course. Rider Mat Dibb Says - Iâve always needed challenges and targets in life to aim for, as a means of motivation and fitness. As an avid supporter and user of electric bicycles, an e-bikeshop.co.uk customer and keen fundraiser I wondered how I could combine all three in my next big challenge. I am also a passionate Motorsport follower, and visit the TT on IOM by e-bike as a spectator most years. Following a long negotiation with Guinness World Records, they finally agreed to creating a new category for me 'Fastest Isle of Man TT Mountain Course - Electric bicycle'. I aim to complete a full lap of the TT mountain course over 38 miles, including climbing the notoriously challenging Snaefell Mountain. The current (unofficial) record has been set by local Manxman and TT motorcycle competitor Conor Cummins of 2hrs 41mins on a Smart electric bike. I am hoping to complete my lap in under 2hrs. Conor says that he stopped for a cup of tea at his Mum's house in Ramsey, something I aim to replicate to keep the challenge honest. Having had a chat with the ever helpful Martin Brown (Director, e-bikeshop.co.uk) he helped identify and source the most suitable e-bike from www.moustachebikes.com for the challenge and the plan was in place. Training-wise, not too much more is needed as I regularly clock up around 150 miles per week on my e-hybrid, and ride off-road for 3-4hrs every Sunday morning on my e-MTB, a Haibike X-Duro. Why are you undertaking this challenge? Well I am myself awaiting kidney transplant due to a long term kidney disease. I'm also a committee member of The Kidney Fund. Like many other deserving charities we are reliant solely upon charitable donations. This event will not only give me the opportunity to raise much needed funds, but also to promote kidney health awareness generally. The support of friends, family and of course the generosity of e-bikeshop.co.uk so far has been nothing short of incredible. So the pressure is now on, and now it's down to me! When is the event taking place? The challenge will take place in 1 month's time, on 14th September 2014. Get Involved Please help Mat by following his progress at https://www.facebook.com/MatsTTWR and help him reach his target of 1,000 likes. We wish Mat good luck and hope you will follow from the build up, training and live reports. Update: We did it!!
