I bought the basic 300watt Motus Crossbar model as

I bought the basic 300watt Motus Crossbar model as terrain is pretty flat locally and I am unlikely to exceed 35 miles in one trip. The bike is beautifully finished and high quality. I changed the handlebars and pedals for my own comfort as I have neck and back problems. The pedals need some better form of anti-slip or, like me, change them for a flat pin type.

Seven gears is plenty and the highest gear is OK up to about 23mph which is plenty for a tourer. The Motus can be ridden very easily with the motor of which I do about 80% of the time I ride locally. Because of that my range approaches 100 miles on a single charge. I have tested it using ECO mode 100% of the time and on accumulated mileage got 55 miles out of it which is outstanding and there was still about 5% usable charge left in the battery so 60 miles is attainable even with my 20 stone body.

Anyone with an average 12 stone frame can expect way more range. Saddle is comfortable and hard wearing and the road tyres give a surprise amount of grip on gravel and wet tarmac. Shimano brakes are superb as is to be expected of hydraulic disc brakes. Front fork is adjustable and has a fair travel and range for even trail riding. The Bosch motor is incredible and mine seems to be far more flexible than it was intended to be but I'm not complaining as it is still assisting me at speeds of over 20mph!

I know others who would love that but it does seem to be a rare case for an unmodified bike to assist that high in the UK. As I say, I'm not complaining :). The whole Raleigh Bosch package couldn't be a better marriage of quality and performance not mention value. At £1,650 you get a lot for your money and the the 300watt battery 7 speed gear combination suits me fine in local terrain but those who live in more exacting, hilly areas may be better looking at the 400watt or 500wattb Grand Tour. Whichever model you buy you are getting quality, performance and value.

The 7 speed Motus shipping was outstanding

I live in the USA. The 7 speed Motus shipping was outstanding. What a great bike for the price. Martin in sales has been very prompt and helpful in resolving the only issue I had with the Bike. I could not get the "walk assist" to operate, Martin walked (no pun intended) me thru the problem as soon as I contacted him. Outstanding Martin!!!!

My wife and I used "FLYER" ebikes in the Netherlands for a week this year, and we both noted that the Raleigh Motus has more acceleration than the Flyer and is very easy to ride. (and at much less cost). Now, if I can get it away from my wife now and then I"d be a happy man.
5 Stars both the bike and the service, thanks again Martin!

Purchased my Raleigh Motus and can only say I

Purchased my Raleigh Motus and can only say I'm delighted! I had a hip replacement in December 2014 and wanted a way to regain my fitness after a period of forced inactivity. The Motus is a brilliant bit of kit!

It really is flexible in it's assistance, so easy to flick up and down the power levels to give you help when you need it! I've covered in excess of 150 Miles in the last week, and can feel my fitness levels increasing and, more importantly, my need for "Turbo" mode reducing! It really is a well "screwed together" bike! The brakes are excellent and, whilst possibly frowned upon by the purists, the mudguards do a brilliant job of keeping you clean! I look forward to my excursions on the bike, something that probably wouldn't be the case were the hills still a problem! AAAA++++

Excellent service from E-Bikeshop as well! Many thanks Martin!
