It was my first venture into the world

I bought an ebike from ebikeshop.co.uk about a month ago. It was my first venture into the world of electric bikes.

I've been a keen cyclist for years but only for enjoyment and a way to get from A to B. I've been on a Brompton for the last ten years and have been keeping my eye on electric conversions for that for some time, but somehow all the conversions I've seen have not excited me, and since Brompton themselves have been pretty slow off the mark to bring their own solutions to the market I started to look elsewhere.

A little bit of googling threw up Haibike and I was immediately taken by the way they have integrated ugly things like batteries and motors into a traditional mountain bike.

That was it, I had to have one. I went for a 2016 sDuro Hardseven SL because it was an entry level machine and I didn't know what I was getting into.

I loved it from the first ride and am loving even more four weeks later. I live in Fulham, which isn't a hilly part
of London but I'm actively seeking out hills because the bike just eats them up. It's just so much fun.
Ebikes are here to stay and they're going to get better and better.

I can't really fault Haibike's products, the engineering is of a very high quality.

My only small gripes are: the Yamaha motor, which gives assistance at the first touch of the pedals is great and it freewheels perfectly, but if you want to pedal with no power assistance at all there is a perceptible drag from the motor, pedalling is a little harder than it should be. I can't however imagine anyone wanting to do this.
The other moan would be that some of the components are not of the highest quality, so be prepared to upgrade pedals and possibly the saddle but this is really nit-picking, basically you're getting top quality German engineering.

To sum up: the bike is brilliant, I'm totally hooked. I collected it from the ebikeshop.co.uk showroom/warehouse in Farnham where Martin and his crew handed it over to me. Great bunch, great product, I'm very happy!
