Have just bought the Lapierre 700 ebike after 30

Have just bought the Lapierre 700 ebike after 30 years of conventional MTB and 10yrs+ of riding Lapierre Zesty's. Have had ebike about 1 week and have been out for around 2hrs most days around North Downs. It took a little time to get used to it and to stop playing with buttons and looking at the screen and just enjoy riding it.

The suspension is now well set up for me and gears are tuned to change smoothly. This took much more fiddling than with the more expensive sram 11 speeds on my standard bike. The brakes work very well with nice progressive feel and with no squealing (as yet), which is a regular complaint of the sram Guide. The Michelin wild gripr 2.35 tyres seem pretty good. I have replaced the tubes and filled with stans and am running at 20psi.

My conclusion after one week is that its a great piece of kit and a real pleasure to ride. Its very plush and balanced on the suspension, the extra weight helps downhill and due to electric assist does not impact the feel uphill. It powers effortlessly over rutted climbs very nicely. The only small moan is on the Lapirerre dropper post system. The actuation lever swivels around the handlebar and the mild steel tightening screw simply isn't man enough. Still 5 stars though!
