Worlds First Bosch Powered Folding Electric Bike

World’s First Bosch Electric Folding Bike Weighs In At Just 14kg!

By Martin Brown on December 5, 2016

Been searching for a European built Bosch powered folding electric bike? So have we! We are excited to announce the world’s lightest electric Bosch folding bike at just 14.2kg.

Following our trip to Eurobike, one thing was certainly on the agenda: Track down a Bosch powered folding electric bike. The market is flooded with Chinese style folding bikes, or hub powered bikes. As we specialise in crank driven bikes, with already proven reliability range and ride, it was imperative to find a Bosch folding version!

Gepida Miliare Pro 2017

Say hello to the Gepida Miliare electric folding bike, a very special eBike indeed. The design team at Gepida worked for months to bring a true ‘Game Changer’ to the market.

You cannot just take a folding bike and add a Bosch motor drive system. This folding bike had to be re-designed from the ground up, specifically to be an electric folding bike!

Gates carbon drive belt system on folding bike

Fully integrated Shimano Alfine 8 speed hub with Gates carbon belt drive. Gears without any mess or maintenance.

Bosch 400Wh battery integrated on Folding Bike

Fully integrated Bosch 400Wh battery to keep weight low down and central, providing a full days ride.

Shimano Disc Brakes on Miliare Pro

Full Shimano Deore hydraulic disc brakes as standard for superior stopping power & minimal maintenance.

Bosch Powered Electric Folding Bike

Electro-Luminescent decals which light up. Stay safe with enhanced visibility. Powered from the Bosch system.

Bosch Nyon System on Gepida Miliare

Comes complete with Bosch Nyon with enhanced features inc satellite navigation, fitness tracking & range predictor.

Folding Hinge System on Gepida Miliare

Special hinge system, locks in place, makes folding quick and easy. Packs down small for a neat storage solution.

What’s the difference between the Miliare & the Pro?

We’ll also be offering a basic version of the Miliare too, it’ll be priced accordingly and offer the same frame, but at a lower specification.

Gepida Miliare vs Pro Electric Folding Bike

It will lose the built in light graphics, carbon Gates belt drive, Deore brakes, drop the Alfine electronic hub gears / shifting and revert to 9-speed derailleur gears.

It will use the Bosch Active line system over the Performance (50% more assistance and 20% more torque) line system used on the Pro. You’ll also notice the display will change from the Nyon system (on the Pro) to the Active Intuvia display on the base Miliare.

The key thing for the design of this bike had to be foldability, comfort and ride. The bike is super adjustable which makes it comfortable to ride and suits a varied size range of riders.

The bikes portability comes with the unique folding mechanism, which allows the complete bike to be folded in 3 simple steps. The bars tilt down, the frame pivots in half and the pedals pop down. This convenience makes it perfect for a range of riders, be it hopping on a train to folding it away into the boot of your car or sliding under your desk at work.
