Who is this bike suitable for?
The new Cube Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro 500 2019 is built for riders wanting to explore both on and off road. The fast rolling wheels roll well on tarmac, and the 100mm suspension and Plus tyres come into their realm on forest tracks, paths and trails.
I was skeptical I could ascend a local very steep hill sitting down but I did and in torrentially wet conditions. The ability to have traction and āaccelerateā through hairpin bends whilst ascending is unique, as is the lower center of gravity which feel much safer and more controlled on steeper descents. All in all it is an amazing piece of kit.
New Features
With the Bosch Performance CX System and a 500Wh battery, The Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro 500 2019 is ready to take you further.
Equipped with Schwalbe's large volume 2.6" Smart Sam Plus tires, these tires have a tight central pattern for excellent rolling speed, offering reliable grip on a mix of terrain including the road.
The shoulders of the tire have wider spacing with a more aggressive tread to optimise off road grip during cornering, making them a solid all rounder.
With the larger volume of Plus tires, this allows for the tires to be run at higher pressures for faster rolling on road, or alternatively lower pressures for comfort and a wider footprint to improve grip off road.
Suntours XCM34 coil front fork helps to soak up the rough terrain, keeping the steering precise. These feature a 15mm axle for improved stiffness and preload adjustment.
Cube have spec'd the Reaction Hybrid Pro 500 2019 with Shimano's MT200 hydraulic disc brakes. These offer solid performance with easy reach adjustment. These paired with 180mm discs front and rear offer plenty of bite and modulation making them a great all rounder.
You can be sure they'll stop you as quickly as you accelerate on this eBike. Minimal maintenance and fuss.
Aside from changing the brake pads from time to time you can fit & forget.
Cube have used their own factory rims onto the Reaction Hybrid Pro for 2019 with Shimano boost hubs and 29" rims. These 30mm wide rims offer an excellent tire profile for wider tires.
The wider boost hubs improve the bracing angles for the wheels spokes, improving the wheels strength and stiffness.
Cube has designed the Reaction Hybrid Pro 500 to be thoroughly up to date for 2019, with internal routing for all cables including the option for a stealth dropper post. The PowerPack battery has been mounted inside the frame to further protect the battery and enhance the frames aesthetics.
The 2019 Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro 500 eBike is equipped with Shimano's new Deore M6000 10-speed rear derailleur.
The Deore setup offers a wide range of gearing from 11 to 42 teeth at the rear.
This offers excellent ratios for both climbing & picking up speed on long flat areas. The gearing is both responsive and crisp, meaning you can focus on the ride.
The M6000 derailleur features Shimano's Shadow Plus one way friction clutch to reduce chain slap, helping to keep things quiet and efficient over rougher terrain.
The Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro 500 will be popular for many looking for an every day XC trail bike, with keen pricing with a well thought out spec. The Cube Reaction is also offered in the higher spec Reaction Hybrid SL 500 Kiox, which features the brand new Bosch Kiox colour display with bluetooth.
Bosch CX & Purion eBike System
The new Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro 500 2019 eBike features the Bosch Performance CX crank drive motor, so you can be sure it's fitted with the latest kit and setup for optimum performance.
The 250w CX system outputs 75Nm of torque & peaks at 500w! It certainly packs a punch, it will also offer up to 300% assistance in turbo mode. Featuring 4 levels of assistance & remember you can always turn the power off and ride it as a normal bike! In addition, the new eMTB mode allows the user to set in one assistance mode and the system itself will determine the assistance offered.
The Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro 500 features new Bosch 500Wh battery technology for 2019 located centrally on the frame. Cube have neatly designed it so it can be charged both on & off the bike.
For 2019 Cube have equipped the Bosch Purion display, a revised smaller dash that offers quick vision of essential parameters whilst occupying a minimal amount of cockpit space.

This electric bike comes fully set-up by our workshop technicians. You can be sure that every aspect of the eBike has been dialled in for optimum performance. All our electric bikes arrive with a user manual, keys, charger & free follow up service within 3 months.
Our electric bikes also include a 5yr warranty on the frame, 2yr warranty on all the electrics & 1yr warranty on the components. In the event of a problem, we handle all warranty claims in-house. We can also offer worldwide support for customers further afield using a laptop or PC connected to the internet, combined with our diagnostic equipment.
E-bikeshop is a UK Bosch Electric Bike Service Center and our in house workshop is now exclusively reserved for our own eBike customers. We also have parts / spares to hand should they be required.
