An authorised Bosch dealer, repair and warranty centre is always the best place to buy Bosch ebike components. Not only are they always original Bosch parts, but a retailer/repair centre authorised by Bosch to work on their systems will always be best placed to offer help and advice.

Yes, it’s strongly recommended. Genuine Bosch parts ensure correct compatibility, safe operation and continued warranty coverage. After market components may not communicate properly with the system.

Some components are only made in small numbers, are for bikes which being very old are becoming harder to support or in the case of brand new to market items, are only available to us in limited numbers initially. In these cases, we will lock the parts for access by our own eBike customers only. This is also to protect us from becoming the "one stop shop" for eBike support in the UK. While outwardly this sounds like a good business opportunity, unfortunately many dealers are happy to sell bikes, but don't want the cost of having to offer help, support or invest in the parts and spares to support them. Sadly we cannot support all Bosch ebike riders in the UK and so we have to with hold some of these components to ensure we can meet our high service standard with those who have invested in a bike with us before the customers of other businesses.

Some are, but not all. Compatibility depends on the battery mount, voltage and generation (e.g., PowerTube vs PowerPack). Always match your battery to your specific bike and Bosch system generation.

Bosch chargers come in different sizes (Compact, Standard, and Fast Charger) but must match your system’s generation. Using the wrong charger can damage the battery, so always choose a compatible Bosch unit.

A Bosch authorised dealer has access to the full back-catalogue of parts and spares from Bosch and can obtain almost any Bosch component produced on their ebikes, going back as far as ten years in most cases. This also includes any upgrades, where customers want to up grade their display, batteries and other components (where compatible), even on older bikes. Its worth noting however that with very small margins to be made on small parts, most dealers will only special order parts for their own customers. Although we hold hundreds of parts in our warehouse for Bosch systems, items which need to be specially ordered is something we can only do for our own eBike customers.

Often, yes. Many Bosch displays — like Purion, Intuvia, Kiox and Nyon — can be upgraded depending on the motor system and wiring on your bike. Some upgrades require a dealer setup.

Each generation improves efficiency, smoothness and torque. For example, Performance Line CX motors offer more power for off-road riding, while Active Line motors are smoother and ideal for city cycling.

The motors themselves are largely maintenance-free, but the drivetrain (chain, cassette, chainring) needs regular attention due to higher torque loads. A dealer can also perform system diagnostics when needed.
