Who is this bike suitable for?
With 100mm of travel, this hardtail electric bike is the entry level model within the Haibike sDuro range. The HardNine RC 2015 eBike is a real all rounder that is capable of most XC / Trail use. Its similar to the Bosch powered xDuro RC29 of last year which was a decent hard tail 29er trail bike but we also found many people using it as a clutter free commuter. The sDuro comes in at a lower spec and price for budget orientated pockets.
Utterly brilliant! I found this amazing solution - just pedal and select the assist you need with the wide range of gears - really easy and YES IT WORKS! - some of the routes I used to do became too much but not now - thanks e-Bike shop Haibike and Yamaha.
New Features
So the new Haibike sDuro HardNine RC 2015 eBike offers more features and a bigger wheel size than the HardSeven. We upgrade to the RockShox XC32 fork with 100mm of travel and remote 'poploc'.
This enables the rider to remotely lock out the front fork from the handlebar controls so riding up hill and across flatter terrain is made effortless with minimal energy consumption.
Interestingly this is the first model within the sDuro and in fact the whole Haibike range (and most of the world) that offers the 2 x 10 speed drivetrain on a crank driven eBike. This uses a Shimano front mech on the new Yamaha drive.
Haibike have opted for a Shimano SLX rear mech and 10 speed cassette so this offers a fantastic 20 speed system.
The wheels are built using XLC Evo disc hubs with a 15mm through axle and quick release on the rear. Combine these with the Rodi double wall alloy rims gives a good 29" wheel which is capable of rolling fast and is strong enough to take some trail abuse.
To grip the wheels to the floor Haibike have opted for the Schwalbe Racing Ralph tyres which roll very well both on and off the tarmac without picking up too much resistance.
The HardNine uses a custom hydroformed frame with internal cable routing so it looks clean but is also unlikely to allow any snags to the cabling.
The HardNine 2015 uses Tektro hydraulic disc brakes for minimal maintenance and fuss but with 180mm rotors for advanced stopping power. All in all the HardNine is a well specc'd little bike that is sure to be popular across mixed uses. We rode one of these recently in Germany and it was very responsive but comfortable where it needs to be.

Yamaha eBike System
The new Haibike sDuro HardNine RC is powered by the latest Yamaha electric bike system. Haibike has partnered with Yamaha to bring a brand new line of sDuro eBikes, this powerful 250w motor offers up to 280% assistance and peaks at 80Nm of torque.
The power curve comes in early and is responsive as soon as you touch the pedals. The assistance is set in 3 levels - 'Eco', 'Standard' & 'High'. This allows the user to fine tune the amount of assistance required during the ride offering complete flexibility and control.

The Yamaha system uses a 400Wh battery with an assisted range of up to 80 miles. The Haibike sDuro HardNine RC eBike is offered with the largest 400Wh battery to give a full days ride time.
It can be quickly recharged in a matter of hours and the new LCD display shows not just how much capacity the battery holds but also the predicted range in assisted miles.

This bike comes fully set-up by our workshop technicians. You can be sure that every aspect of the eBike has been dialed in for optimum performance. On all suspension models, be sure to let us know your weight as we can pre adjust the suspension to the desired rider weight, giving the perfect balance and agility specifically for individuals needs. All our electric bikes arrive with a user manual, keys, charger & free follow up service.
Our electric bikes also include a 5yr warranty on the frame, 2yr warranty on all the electrics & 1yr warranty on the components. In the event of a problem, we handle all warranty claims in-house.
E-bikeshop is a UK Yamaha Electric Bike Service Center and our in house workshop is now exclusively reserved for our own eBike customers. We also have parts / spares to hand should they be required.
