Who is this bike suitable for?
The Raleigh Motus is a great way into electric biking. Using a semi all terrain hybrid tyre, the Motus is great for both road and light gravel paths. Suitable for your recreational rider who wants to explore or commute alike. Fully equipped with essentials like mudguards, pannier rack and a side stand - It's a great all rounder.
This bike is everything I was hoping from an electric bike, after visiting the cycle show and months of reading ebike reviews I was a bit nervous of spending suh a lot of money. However after my first cycle ride on the Raleigh Motus I am 100% convinced that I have chosen the best bike for me and I love it. In summary, I couldn't be happier!..
New Features
Raleigh have teamed up with the German manufacturers Bosch to create a well specified European built crank drive bike.
The Tektro hydraulic disc brakes ensure the Motus electric bike comes to a stop where needed, with good braking performance and minimal maintenance.
Whilst we are on maintenance, aside from keeping it clean and oiling the chain from time to time, there is not actually that much else too it!
The Raleigh Motus Crossbar comes fully equipped with all the practical functions you would expect. Raleigh have opted to offer an eBike that you needn't add any extras. Well, maybe a helmet and a nice set of pannier bags?..
The basic Raleigh Motus crossbar model uses a Shimano Altus 7 speed drive train on a derailleur gear setup.
The wheels feature decent hubs & Raleigh have used alloy double wall rims for superior strength and minimal weight.
The wheels on this model are 'quick release' front & rear. This means you can remove the wheels in seconds if required.
To glide you over some of the bumpier roads / terrain are Suntour's front suspension fork with 50mm of travel to take the zing out of the front end.
The semi wrap bars are natural to hold and combined with the adjustable stem and comfort grips allow the rider to get in the perfect position.
The Raleigh Motus offers a great setup at a very reasonable price. It allows you to get onto a quality European built bike with the renowned Bosch centre crank drive system for not much more than it's traditional 'Chinese Style' hub drive competitors.
Bosch Active Line System
The new Raleigh Motus features the latest Bosch Active Line eBike system. Offering a larger sprocket upfront with no internal gearing, this motor is much quieter and features little resistance when pedalling outside of the assistance.
The system is designed to be smooth and is around 30% more compact than the previous Active line. Offering support up to 250% and peak torque levels of 40Nm this system offers smooth and subtle power delivery both around town and on longer rides alike.
The smaller Purion Display shows rider credentials at a glance whilst keeping the cockpit clean. It offers quick access to parameters and assistance modes. Also offering the 'Walk Assist' function.
The Raleigh Motus comes with a 300Wh battery, enough for stints in and out of town or slightly longer rides on a weekend. Support is delivered in 4 different assistance modes up to 15mph.

This bike comes fully set-up by our workshop technicians. You can be sure that every aspect of the eBike has been dialled in for optimum performance. All our electric bikes arrive with a user manual, keys, charger & free follow up service within 3 months.
Our electric bikes also include a 5yr warranty on the frame, 2yr warranty on all the electrics & 1yr warranty on the components. In the event of a problem, we handle all warranty claims in-house. We can also offer worldwide support for customers further afield using a laptop or PC connected to the internet, combined with our diagnostic equipment.
E-bikeshop is a UK Bosch Electric Bike Service Center and our in house workshop is now exclusively reserved for our own eBike customers. We also have parts / spares to hand should they be required.
