Who is this bike suitable for?
The new 2021 Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 HPC ActionTeam is built for all mountain and enduro riding, whilst still being sprightly enough for singletrack and cross country. With the 625Wh PowerTube battery and 160/170mm of full suspension travel it's more than ready for those aggressive descents and eating up the climbs.
Sadly, this popular bike is now sold out but you can find the 2022 model here.
I was skeptical I could ascend a local very steep hill sitting down but I did and in torrentially wet conditions. The ability to have traction and ‘accelerate’ through hairpin bends whilst ascending is unique, as is the lower center of gravity which feel much safer and more controlled on steeper descents. All in all it is an amazing piece of kit.
New Features
The 2021 Cube Stereo 160 HPC Action Team features the Fox Factory Float DPX2 EVOL rear shock. Their most advanced and lightweight all-trail shock, it raises an already high, self-set bar in trail grip performance and comfort.
Adjustment is made via the 3 position lever, easily reached on the move. Aced the climb and ready to hit the downhill section? Just flick the switch and unleash 160mm of ultra-plush, trail grabbing travel. At the front of the bike, the 2021 model gets a significant upgrade over the 2020 version, with the (also Kashima coated) Fox 38 Float Factory FIT4 forks.
The genuine Kashima coated Fox 38mm Factory stanchions rise up to a newly designed, elliptical steerer tube to maximise stiffness with less material. Their updated Grip2 damper now comes with adjustable High and Low-Speed rebound and compression damping.
C62:Monocoque Carbon Frame
Building a frame that effortlessly blends the performance of an enduro model with the advantages of a Bosch e-bike is tricky, but Cube didn't let that stop them advancing their offering in 2021. The 2021 Cube Stereo 160 Action Team features a carbon main frame in with modular battery system and Bosch motor completely integrated into the frame and down tube.
The shockproof 2-component battery cover reliably protects the battery and can be removed at the push of a button. The frame offers mounting points for a bottle cage and is equipped with a Trunnion damper, extra-large bearings, a Boost 148 thru axle and 1.5 inch head tube for super-precise steering on all surfaces.
As is now standard on Fox suspension, the 38 Factory FIT4 forks progression can be further adjusted with volume spacers to fine tune the fork to rider preference.
Following in the footsteps of the 2020 model the 2021 Cube Stereo 160 Action Team ships with Shimano XT hydraulic disc brakes, using the M8120 four pot calliper both front and rear for high modulation and power. These are paired with 203mm rotors for excellent initial bite early in the lever stroke, with XT levers offering easy, tool free reach adjustment.
You can be sure they'll stop you as quickly as you accelerate on this eBike. Minimal maintenance and fuss. Aside from changing the brake pads from time to time you can fit & forget.
The 2021 Cube Stereo 160 Action Team grips the trail with a 2.4" Schwalbe Magic Mary tire up front and Big Betty rear. This tire combo is hugely popular amongst many riders, offering excellent grip in everything from hard pack to loose muddy loam, whilst the faster rolling rear helps to keep up the pace.
The 27.5+ tyres give a wider footprint, whilst running lower pressures to offer superb cushioning & all round trail comfort.
Cube have used their own factory rims onto the Stereo 160 Action Team for 2021 with Shimano boost hubs and 27.5+ rims. These 35mm wide rims offer an excellent tire profile for wider tires.
A suspension overhaul aside, very little has changed on the 2021 frame. A fresh paint job and minor tweaks to an already fantastic value bike include a further integrated cable routing design for all cables including for the Fox Transfer dropper post now see almost no visible cables at all.
The 2021 Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 HPC Action Team features the latest Shimano XT M8100 12-Speed group set.
Using Shimano's Micro Spline freehub body, the bike comes with a smaller 10t 12th sprocket on their new wide range cassette.
With a whopping 10-51t setup you'll be sure there's no climb or descent you cant tackle!
The Shimano ShadowPlus clutch system ensures a stable drive train even in rough terrain with minimal chain slap for precise and quiet shifting.
Bosch CX & Kiox eBike System
The new Cube Stereo 160 HPC Action Team 2021 eBike features the latest Gen 4 Bosch Performance CX crank drive motor, with a fresh software upgrade for 2021.
The recently updated 250w CX system now provides 85Nm of torque & peaks at 500w! It certainly packs a punch, it will also offer up to 340% assistance in turbo mode. Featuring 4 levels of assistance & remember you can always turn the power off and ride it as a normal bike! In addition, the new eMTB mode allows the user to set in one assistance mode and the system itself will determine the assistance offered.
Now common place on top spec Bosch systems, the 2021 Cube 160 HPC Action Team features the new Bosch 'PowerTube' 625Wh battery. Completely integrated into the frame, Cube have neatly incorporated it into their "Modular Battery System", allowing it to be charged both on and off the bike.
The Bosch Kiox display is neat and super compact with a bright, intuitive LCD display screen. Despite it's slim design, it offers all the rider credentials in a neat and easy to read user interface. Riders can see important factors like speed, distance and battery range on the screen. The newly designed control buttons, sit to the left of the bars to allow scrolling of the centrally mounted Kiox screen.

This electric bike comes fully set-up by our workshop technicians. You can be sure that every aspect of the eBike has been dialled in for optimum performance. All our electric bikes arrive with a user manual, keys, charger & free follow up service within 3 months.
Our electric bikes also include a 5yr warranty on the frame, 2yr warranty on all the electrics & 1yr warranty on the components. In the event of a problem, we handle all warranty claims in-house. We can also offer worldwide support for customers further afield using a laptop or PC connected to the internet, combined with our diagnostic equipment.
E-bikeshop is a UK Bosch Electric Bike Service Center and our in house workshop is now exclusively reserved for our own eBike customers. We also have parts / spares to hand should they be required.
