Who is this bike suitable for?
The new Cube Stereo Hybrid 120 Race 2019 is built around every day trail biking, be it light single track, forest paths or cross country. With the PowerTube battery and 120mm of full suspension travel it's a good all rounder.
I was skeptical I could ascend a local very steep hill sitting down but I did and in torrentially wet conditions. The ability to have traction and ‘accelerate’ through hairpin bends whilst ascending is unique, as is the lower center of gravity which feel much safer and more controlled on steeper descents. All in all it is an amazing piece of kit.
New Features
A trail spec and travel bike with PowerTube Bosch 500Wh and Performance CX motor. We welcome the Stereo 120 Race.
Equipped with the 2019 Fox Float DPS EVOL rear shock, which offers 3-Way adjustable lockout and air compression. You can also adjust the rebound damping externally.
With the Dual Piston System, the rider can lock out, ride fully open, or select the mid stage mode to conserve energy, whilst still providing cushioning under pressure.
It's also air pressure adjustable depending on the riders weight. At the front Cube have equipped the new Fox 34 Rhythm Fork with the 2-Position GRIP Damper.
This new damper offers a more simplified closed cartridge system than the FIT4 used in other Fox forks. Closed cartridge allows for fox to keep a much more consistent feel compared to open dampers which are usually cheaper to manufacture.
Much like Fox's Fit4 system, the Rhythms fork progression can still be adjusted with volume spacers to fine tune the fork to rider preference.
Cube have spec'd the Stereo 120 Race 2019 with Shimano's Deore hydraulic disc brakes. These offer solid performance with easy reach adjustment. These paired with 180mm discs front and rear offer plenty of bite and modulation making them a great all rounder.
You can be sure they'll stop you as quickly as you accelerate on this eBike. Minimal maintenance and fuss. Aside from changing the brake pads from time to time you can fit & forget.
The Cube Stereo 120 2019 grips the trail with 2.6" Schwalbe Nobby Nic tyres. Offering Addix Performance compound, these tires offer an excellent tread pattern for all round riding.
The 29+ tyres give a wider footprint, whilst running lower pressures to offer superb cushioning & all round trail comfort.
Cube have used their own factory rims onto the Stereo 120 for 2019 with Shimano boost hubs and 29" rims. These 30mm wide rims offer an excellent tire profile for wider tires.
Cube has designed the Stereo 120 race to be thoroughly up to date for 2019, with internal routing for all cables including the option for a stealth dropper post. The integrated PowerTube battery is protected by a metal battery cover for additional protection and the frame even has water bottle boss mounts on the downtube for those longer rides.
The 2019 Cube Stereo 120 eBike is equipped with Shimano's M8000 11 speed rear derailleur. The XT setup offers a huge range of gearing from 11 to 46 teeth at the rear with
Shimano's new wider range cassette.
This offers excellent ratios for both climbing & picking up speed on long flat areas. The gearing is both responsive and crisp, meaning you can focus on the ride.
The M8000 derailleur features Shimano's Shadow Plus one way friction clutch to reduce chain slap, helping to keep things quiet and efficient over rougher terrain.
The Cube Stereo 120 will be popular for many looking for an every day XC trail bike, with keen pricing with a well thought out spec. Cube Stereos are also offered in two longer travel models for more aggressive riding with the Stereo 140 and Stereo 160.
Bosch CX & Purion eBike System
The new Cube Stereo 120 Race 500 2019 eBike features the Bosch Performance CX crank drive motor, so you can be sure it's fitted with the latest kit and setup for optimum performance.
The 250w CX system outputs 75Nm of torque & peaks at 500w! It certainly packs a punch, it will also offer up to 300% assistance in turbo mode. Featuring 4 levels of assistance & remember you can always turn the power off and ride it as a normal bike! In addition, the new eMTB mode allows the user to set in one assistance mode and the system itself will determine the assistance offered.
The Stereo 120 features new 'PowerTube' Bosch 500Wh battery technology for 2019 which is completely integrated into the frame. Cube have neatly designed it so it can be charged both on & off the bike.
For 2019 Cube have equipped the Bosch Purion display, a revised smaller dash that offers quick vision of essential parameters whilst occupying a minimal amount of cockpit space.

This electric bike comes fully set-up by our workshop technicians. You can be sure that every aspect of the eBike has been dialled in for optimum performance. All our electric bikes arrive with a user manual, keys, charger & free follow up service within 3 months.
Our electric bikes also include a 5yr warranty on the frame, 2yr warranty on all the electrics & 1yr warranty on the components. In the event of a problem, we handle all warranty claims in-house. We can also offer worldwide support for customers further afield using a laptop or PC connected to the internet, combined with our diagnostic equipment.
E-bikeshop is a UK Bosch Electric Bike Service Center and our in house workshop is now exclusively reserved for our own eBike customers. We also have parts / spares to hand should they be required.
