Who is this bike suitable for?
The new Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 HPC SL 2020 is built for all mountain and enduro riding, whilst still being sprightly enough for singletrack and cross country. With the 625Wh PowerTube battery and 160/170mm of full suspension travel it's more than ready for those aggressive descents and eating up the climbs.
I was skeptical I could ascend a local very steep hill sitting down but I did and in torrentially wet conditions. The ability to have traction and āaccelerateā through hairpin bends whilst ascending is unique, as is the lower center of gravity which feel much safer and more controlled on steeper descents. All in all it is an amazing piece of kit.
New Features
An enduro spec and travel bike with PowerTube Bosch 625Wh and Gen 4 Performance CX motor. We welcome the Stereo 160 HPC SL 625.
Cube have equipped the Stereo 160 HPC SL with a RockShox Deluxe Select+ rear shock. New Maxima Plush damping fluid has been used to reduce stiction to ensure smooth operation.
The Select+ features lockout to firm up the rear. Ready to hit the downhill sections? No problem, simply open it up to unleash the full potential of this 160mm travel shock.
The Debonair air spring offers a highly tune-able and consistent feeling shock, which can be adjusted for the riders weight. Up front Cube had equipped the Rockshox Lyrik Select fork.
The 35mm chassis of the 35 Gold forks ensures a stiff fork for steering precision, with the Charger RC damper offering low speed compression adjustment.
Brand New Carbon Frame
For 2020 Cube's engineering team have come through with a brand new carbon frame. Not only is the whole frame set much lighter, but it features seamless (weld-free) lines from start to finish. Not to mention the full internal cable routing.
The Cube Stereo Hybrid Bosch powered eBikes are the most economically priced full suspension carbon eMTB's on the market.
Much like other Rockshox air forks, the Lyrik Select fork can still be adjusted with volume spacers to fine tune the progression through the travel to rider preference.
Cube have spec'd the Stereo 160 HPC SL 625 2020 with Magura MT5 hydraulic disc brakes, with four pot calipers front and rear for high modulation and power. These are paired with 203mm rotors for excellent initial bite early in the lever stroke, whilst the MT5 levers allow for reach adjustment.
You can be sure they'll stop you as quickly as you accelerate on this eBike. Minimal maintenance and fuss. Aside from changing the brake pads from time to time you can fit & forget.
The Cube Stereo 160 2020 grips the trail with a 2.6" Schwalbe Hans Dampf front and rear. The Addix Soft compound provides excellent grip alongside the improved tread pattern, making for an excellent enduro tire.
The 27.5+ tyres give a wider footprint, whilst running lower pressures to offer superb cushioning & all round trail comfort.
Cube have used their own factory rims onto the Stereo 160 for 2020 with Shimano boost hubs and 27.5+ rims. These 30mm wide rims offer an excellent tire profile for wider tires.
Cube has designed the Stereo 160 HPC SL to be thoroughly up to date for 2020, with internal routing for all cables including for Cube's own stealth dropper.
The new 625wh Bosch PowerTube battery is neatly integrated into the frame using Cubes Modular Battery System, which is designed to securely hold the battery keeping it rattle free.
The batteries locking assembly is hidden underneath the impact resistant cover to avoid dirt ingress.
The Cube Stereo 160 HPC SL 2020 features The Sram NX Eagle 12-Speed drive train.
The X-HORIZON design reduces chain slap and the shifting force offering a smooth reliable setup.
You'll notice the new huge 12 speed cassette which offers an incredible 11 to 50t for both up and down hill.
Srams new derailleurs use a type 3 roller clutch bearing, meaning there's a smoother torque curve for less movement over rough terrain whilst offering lighter shifting from the shifter.
The Cube Stereo 160 will be popular for many looking for a trail bike capable of tackling some serious descents. Cube Stereos are also offered in two shorter travel models with the Stereo 140 HPC SL 625 and Stereo 140 HPC Race.
Bosch CX & Purion eBike System
The Cube Stereo 160 HPC SL 625 2020 eBike features the new Gen 4 Bosch Performance CX crank drive motor, so you can be sure it's fitted with the latest kit and setup for optimum performance.
The 250w CX system outputs 75Nm of torque & peaks at 500w! It certainly packs a punch, it will also offer up to 340% assistance in turbo mode. Featuring 4 levels of assistance & remember you can always turn the power off and ride it as a normal bike! In addition, the new eMTB mode allows the user to set in one assistance mode and the system itself will determine the assistance offered.
The Stereo 160 features new 'PowerTube' Bosch 625Wh battery for 2020 which is completely integrated into the frame. Cube have neatly designed it so it can be charged both on & off the bike.
The 2020 Bosch Purion display is neat & compact. Riders can see important factors like speed, distance and battery range on the screen.

This electric bike comes fully set-up by our workshop technicians. You can be sure that every aspect of the eBike has been dialled in for optimum performance. All our electric bikes arrive with a user manual, keys, charger & free follow up service within 3 months.
Our electric bikes also include a 5yr warranty on the frame, 2yr warranty on all the electrics & 1yr warranty on the components. In the event of a problem, we handle all warranty claims in-house. We can also offer worldwide support for customers further afield using a laptop or PC connected to the internet, combined with our diagnostic equipment.
E-bikeshop is a UK Bosch Electric Bike Service Center and our in house workshop is now exclusively reserved for our own eBike customers. We also have parts / spares to hand should they be required.
