Who is this bike suitable for?
The new Haibike sDuro Trekking RC eBike is designed for everyday use on the road but is also capable of going on light cycle paths, tracks and canal paths. It's the ideal bike for commuting or touring longer distances on the road at a comfortable pace.
Just a note to let you know how I'm getting on.. It's really good piece of kit. All quality parts, properly put together. The gear ratios all harmonise, and it's very comfortable to ride. The assistance works smoothly and seamlessly, the noise is level very low. The set up suits what I need - quiet roads, occasional trails, but lots of hills.
New Features
On the Haibike sDuro trekking model we get some brand new features. First off we have one of the only crank driven bikes in the world to offer a dual ring on the front. Giving a massive 20 gear range in a 2 x 10 set up. The new sDuro features the new Yamaha motor which allows the use of a front derailleur.
This ensures maximum gear range is given for both up and down the hill.
These are operated on smooth trigger shifters on a full Shimano XT groupset. You'll also notice the sDuro Trekking RC is fully equipped with all the necessary components ideal for commuting and trekking.
Its kitted out with full front and rear mudguards, a handy pannier rack, sturdy prop stand, comfy saddle, comfort dual zone gel grips and even front & rear LED lights that are powered / controlled by the Yamaha system itself. All you really need is a helmet and your set ready to go!
Haibike have opted for solid reliable Shimano XT hydraulic disc brakes for lots of braking power but more importantly minimal maintenance and adjustment.
The sDuro Trekking RC utilizes alloy double wall rims that are lightweight but sturdy enough for heavier riders. These are laced onto XLC Evo Disc hubs using strong Sapim spokes.
To make the bike as user friendly as possible Haibike have used German manufacturer Schwalbe's new Energizer Tour tyres. These are specifically designed for eBike use and offer superb grip and rolling speed that electric bikes generally require.
They are also very tough and resilient to punctures and tyre wear & are created with a Kevlar base to prevent any nasties getting through.
We like the fact that the sDuro uses a full Shimano XT drive train and brakes. This means it all matches in and is a good approach opposed to mixing and matching manufacturers components. We think the sDuro trekking RC will be a good seller at an affordable price. Its well kitted out and Haibike have thoroughly thought out the bike to really work for this popular hybrid / trekking / commute market.
Haibike sDuro range?
The new Haibike sDuro range is focused on the younger generation. With the age range of people using eBikes getting younger and younger the sDuro electric bikes are all equipped with the Yamaha eBike system offering a more affordable system to younger people.
The prices, styling & design reflect this and the bikes start at a lower point and only go up so far. The xDuro range then crosses over and takes the component level further for more advanced riders. The sDuro range was developed for riders in the age range of 20-30 to offer a new level of eBikes to the next eGeneration.
Yamaha eBike System
The new Haibike sDuro Trekking RC is powered by the latest Yamaha electric bike system. Haibike has partnered with Yamaha to bring a brand new line of sDuro eBikes, this powerful 250w motor offers up to 280% assistance and peaks at 80Nm of torque.
The power curve comes in early and is responsive as soon as you touch the pedals. The assistance is set in 3 levels - 'Eco', 'Standard' & 'High'. This allows the user to fine tune the amount of assistance required during the ride offering complete flexibility and control.

The Yamaha system uses a 400Wh battery with an assisted range of up to 80 miles. The Haibike sDuro Trekking RC 2015 eBike is offered with the largest 400Wh battery to give a full days ride time.
It can be quickly recharged in a matter of hours and the new LCD display shows not just how much capacity the battery holds but also the predicted range in assisted miles.

Whats included?
This bike comes fully set-up by our workshop technicians. You can be sure that every aspect of the eBike has been dialed in for optimum performance. On all suspension models, be sure to let us know your weight as we can pre adjust the suspension to the desired rider weight, giving the perfect balance and agility specifically for individuals needs. All our electric bikes arrive with a user manual, keys, charger & free follow up service.
Our electric bikes also include a 5yr warranty on the frame, 2yr warranty on all the electrics & 1yr warranty on the components. In the event of a problem, we handle all warranty claims in-house.
E-bikeshop is a UK Yamaha Electric Bike Service Center and our in house workshop is now exclusively reserved for our own eBike customers. We also have parts / spares to hand should they be required.
