Who is this bike suitable for?
With 140mm travel and the Bosch Active system, the new Lapierre Overvolt 500 full suspension electric bike is a great all rounder for general All Mountain / Trail Center / XC / Free Ride use.
Received the Lapierre Overvolt today. Delighted with it - fabulous piece of kit from first impressions and can't wait to give it a long test. And top marks for e-bike shop - I ordered it on Monday, they prepped it to my specification & I got it first thing on Wednesday morning. Very impressed so far.
New Features
The Lapierre FS 500 is the entry level full suspension eBike within the Lapierre eMTB range. Its the younger brother to the FS 900 so features the Bosch Active line.
Although lower in price to its bigger brother it has some great components to hit the local trails with.
The Overvolt FS 500 offers the excellent RockShox Sektor Solo Air front forks which feature 140mm of trail bashing travel. To balance the rear off, Lapierre use their own 140mm travel shock with full rebound controls and lock out for climbing at maximum efficiency.
As for the drive train, Lapierre have opted for a Shimano SLX / Deore 10 speed system along with Shimano Deore hydraulic disk brakes.
The FS 500 rolls on Mavic 650B rims on Formula hubs with through axle both front and rear, so its super stiff and strong where needed. Lapierre have finished this bike off with Easton components on the seatpost and stem and Nico's very own designed 720mm wide handlebars made by Funn.
The Lapierre Overvolt eMTB takes on its own breed of performance electric mountain biking. Lapierre has been working hard to create the ultimate all mountain eBike, using their already proven geometry and design skills and bring this to the eBike scene.
Lapierre's very own Nico Vouilloz (10 times MTB World Champion) has tweaked the design of this eMTB to keep it performing above the rest when it comes to off road performance.
The Overvolt full suspension electric bike benefits from the new 650B / 27.5" wheel size. This new wheel is designed with the benefits of the bigger 29" in wheel in mind, so it rolls fast and flows over bumps easier, but uses the 26" wheel characteristics for good maneuverability through tight single track areas.
Bosch Active Line System
The new Lapierre Overvolt FS 500 2015 eBikes also feature the latest Bosch Active crank drive motor, so you can be sure it's fitted with the latest kit and setup for optimum performance.
This system outputs 48Nm of torque & peaks at 500w! It certainly packs a punch, it also offers up to 225% assistance on turbo mode, while Eco mode offers a more subtle 50% assistance. There are 4 levels of assistance and remember you can always turn it off completely and ride it as a normal bike!
This machine rolls just the same as a normal cycle. In fact the quality in the design, geometry & build make it a true performer! The Lapierre Overvolt 500 full suspension model features the Bosch 400Wh PowerPack Battery so it hosts the most range possible on a Bosch powered eBike.

Our electric bikes also include a 5yr warranty on the frame, 2yr warranty on all the electrics & 1yr warranty on the components. In the event of a problem, we handle all warranty claims in-house. We can also offer worldwide support for customers further afield using a laptop or PC connected to the internet, combined with our diagnostic equipment.
E-bikeshop is a UK Bosch Electric Bike Service Center and our in house workshop is now exclusively reserved for our own eBike customers. We also have parts / spares to hand should they be required.
