Orbea ebike

Great company to deal with. Bike arrived on time and is perfect. I have been cycling for years, and over the last year I have struggled to get out on the bike due to poor health. What a bike and it’s great to be out with the guys in the club again doing 40/50 milers. I did go for the extra battery and have yet to run out of battery on a ride but not done more than 50 mile.
I would definitely recommend this bike to anyone who is struggling with healthy or fitness, it does make the miles a lot easier and it turns any hill into a flat and headwind into a tailwind what’s not to like.

Orbea Gain D30 eBike

Recently purchased an Orbea Gain D30 eBike from : E-Bikes.UK I ordered it Tuesday it arrived Thursday; Bike was extremely well packed in the box, Well after putting together (quite a simple job) I took it for a 10, mile ride without using any battery power; bike rode nicely and even without power on; I was able to climb some short hills with ease. The Following Day; I did a 32, mile ride using the basic power mode on the IWOC even climbed a couple of very steep hills 1400 ft, only using basic power mode, and at the end of the 32, mile ride I sill had 57% of Battery remaining, The very next day I did another 32, mile ride using basic mode again; and at the end of the combined two rides = 64, mile there was 32% of battery remaining. I think I will probably get 70,+ miles on a full charge using only basic mode, although I do ride a lot of the time above the 15.5 MPH cut off point, So far I’m very pleased with my New Orbea Gain D30. Also pleased with the guys at E-Bikes UK they are very helpful with some excellent advice for E-Bike owners. I’m very happy with my new bike.

Update on D30

Now completed 250 miles
Bike is still a joy to ride. Best tyre pressure are 70psi rear 65 front for my weight 75kg
Level 0 bike is heavy and hills are a struggle
Level 1 counters bikes weight and allows good progress.Assist is very mild and barely noticeable
Level 2 rapid progress especially in headwinds. Hills are a pleasure and not a chore.
Level 3 very strong assist on hills with rapid progress on any incline.
Bike is always smooth and almost totally silent at all times.
My average speeds have increased by 1.5-2mph
Assist cuts out at exactly 15.6mph however there is no “drag” from the motor and this speed can easily be exceeded as the bike reverts to normal.
Handling is excellent being comfortable and very stable at speed.
The 105 group set is smooth as silk and brakes powerful and progressive
Range is obviously dependant on elevation and assist levels used but 60–80mls easily achievable as long as you don’t hammer level 3
Rather annoyingly the built in lights default to being on at all times and are fiddly to turn off via the I woc button.

Orbea Gain D30 in black

Been cycling now for just over 2 yrs and covered 11,000mls mainly on a ultra light Cannondale Caad 10. Dodgy right knee approaching 70yrs age persuaded me try this machine and it’s been a delight to ride so far. Geometry is identical and the bike is smooth comfortable fast and a joy to ride. The out front Ant + display is excellent and gives simple control over power levels 0-3
I have now covered about 200mls on this bike predominately on level 1 which gives gentle assistance up to 15.5 mph The bike will comfortably cruise at 20+ mph and there is no drag from the motor which is virtually silent. Although the bike is heavy (compared to Cannondale at 7.9kg) this is not noticeable on the move and power delivery is extremely smooth. Level 2 gives a lot of assistance on steep hills whilst level 3 is obscene allowing steep ascents at rediculous speed. Battery life seems per Orbea at 50-80 miles and I suspect more with sensible use.
Build quality and finish is very good and so far I am absolutely delighted with this machine.
