Who is this bike suitable for?
The Raleigh Motus Grand Tour is the bigger brother to the Motus Tour offering wider range gearing, the more powerful Bosch Active Line Plus eBike system, built in rear rack light, top end frame design and comfort upgrades inc Selle Royal custom saddle and suspension seat post. It's suitable for your everyday rider looking to cover some miles at the weekend or commute in the week.
This bike is everything I was hoping from an electric bike, after visiting the cycle show and months of reading ebike reviews I was a bit nervous of spending suh a lot of money. However after my first cycle ride on the Raleigh Motus I am 100% convinced that I have chosen the best bike for me and I love it. In summary, I couldn't be happier!..
New Features
Raleigh have teamed up with the German manufacturers Bosch to create a well specified Europe built crank drive bike.
The Shimano hydraulic disc brakes ensure the Motus Grand Tour electric bike comes to a stop where needed, with good braking performance and minimal maintenance.
Whilst we are on maintenance, aside from keeping it clean and oiling the chain from time to time, there is not actually that much else too it!
The Raleigh Motus Grand Tour Crossbar comes fully equipped with all the practical functions you would expect. Raleigh have opted to offer an eBike that you needn't add any extras.... Just jump on and pedal.
Hub gears benefit from a user friendly system, the controls are easy to navigate (just up and down) and they also benefit from being very low maintenance.
Because the chain does not move, it doesn't wear the same and there is little wear on the sprockets. Thus, not needing for frequent changes of the chain and/or sprockets.
The Motus Tour model features a 7 speed gear system, provided by Shimano, the 7 Speed Internal Nexus gear hub offers silky smooth shifting while maintaining a completely straight chain line.
It works in harmony with the Bosch eBike drive system and offers a reliable maintenance free solution. The 7 speed setup offers a wider range bottom to top for all hills and descents.
The 2019 Raleigh Motus Grand Tour Crossbar includes a complete mudguard set, comfort saddle, ergonomic grips, adjustable stem, prop stand, pannier rack and puncture resistant tyres. It even has built in lights which are powered off the eBike system itself.
No bulbs or batteries to contend with, the lights are always ready for you. On the Motus Grand Tour the rear light is neatly built into the RackTime pannier rack, offering full visibility from behind and at the sides.
What's the difference between the Motus Tour and the Motus Grand Tour? On the Grand Tour you get a completely revised frame design with a higher quality finish. it also features the wider range gearing, built in rack light, comfort Selle Royal Custom saddle and built in suspension seat post. Lastly it's offered with the Bosch Active Line Plus system which has 20% more torque and assistance.
Bosch Active Line Plus System
The new Raleigh Motus Grand Tour features the latest Bosch Active Line Plus eBike system. Offering a larger sprocket upfront with no internal gearing, this motor is much quieter and features little resistance when pedalling outside of the assistance.
The system is designed to be smooth and is around 30% more compact than the previous Active line. Offering support up to 270% and peak torque levels of 50Nm this system offers smooth and punchier power delivery both around town and on longer rides alike.
The Bosch Intuvia display shows rider credentials at a glance whilst keeping the cockpit clean. It offers quick access to parameters and assistance modes. Also offering the 'Walk Assist' function and the ability to remove it from the bike when parked to immobilise the electrical system in case of theft.
The Raleigh Motus Grand Tour comes with a bigger 400Wh battery, offering a full day in the saddle with no battery range anxiety. Support is delivered in 4 different assistance modes up to 15mph.

This bike comes fully set-up by our workshop technicians. You can be sure that every aspect of the eBike has been dialled in for optimum performance. All our electric bikes arrive with a user manual, keys, charger & free follow up service within 3 months.
Our electric bikes also include a 5yr warranty on the frame, 2yr warranty on all the electrics & 1yr warranty on the components. In the event of a problem, we handle all warranty claims in-house. We can also offer worldwide support for customers further afield using a laptop or PC connected to the internet, combined with our diagnostic equipment.
E-bikeshop is a UK Bosch Electric Bike Service Center and our in house workshop is now exclusively reserved for our own eBike customers. We also have parts / spares to hand should they be required.
