Who is this bike suitable for?
The new Raleigh E-Mustang electric road bike is great for the sportive rider. Due to it's 650B wheels it offers the ability to ride both on road & off road but with the added benefit of electric assistance. Think less road bike, more ultimate drop bar - do anything bike!
To my surprise the bike was delivered (fully assembled - just needed to tighten-up the handle-bars) to me in Scotland within two days. My wife loves it, the only issue is now that I can't keep up with her - especially going uphill! At first she was a bit sceptical thinking it would be complex to use but she took to it like a duck to water.

This bike is offered with the Shimano Steps drive system, specifically because of the the low cut off resistance felt above the 15 mph limit. We understand many road riders will ride above the assistance therefore the Shimano system is perfect for the task.
For 2019 the Raleigh Mustang combines Srams Apex 1 drop bar road levers with Sram's hydraulic disc brakes.
As you tend to average faster speed on an electric assisted road bike, it's important to have good stoppers too!
The frame is made by Kinesis in a lightweight Alloy 6061 construction. Combined with lightweight carbon forks up front to give good control but a little comfort where required.
The complete allow wheel set in a tubeless compatible 650B format offers fast rolling but with through axles so they are stiff, offering minimal flex. The through axles also mean taking both front and back wheels off is a breeze.
Combined with Clement 42mm tyres for all terrain, these tyres offer superb rolling on the road but versatile enough for gravel and bridle way riding. Again, one bike does-it-all.
Shimano Steps Road eBike System
The new Raleigh Mustang eBike comes fully equipped with the latest Shimano E6000 electric bike system. This drive is specifically designed for road, gravel and tarmac riding. With subtle assistance modes and a gradual cut off at 15mph like no other system.
The long range 400Wh battery offers a full days road ride in the saddle. You can toggle between the 3 assistance modes on the fly whilst maintaining higher average speeds.
The display offers all the credentials like speed, range and battery indicators - Whilst being clear and easy to navigate, in true Shimano tradition.
The new Shimano Steps charger is both compact and lightweight whilst offering impressive charge times. The new E6000 charger can charge up to 80% in 2 hours from flat. It's small enough to be stowed away for extended range if required.

This electric bike comes fully set-up by our workshop technicians. You can be sure that every aspect of the eBike has been dialled in for optimum performance. All our electric bikes arrive with a user manual, keys, charger & free follow up service within 3 months.
Our electric bikes also include a 5yr warranty on the frame, 2yr warranty on all the electrics & 1yr warranty on the components. In the event of a problem, we handle all warranty claims in-house. We can also offer worldwide support for customers further afield using a laptop or PC connected to the internet, combined with our diagnostic equipment.
E-bikeshop is a UK Shimano Electric Bike Service Center and our in house workshop is now exclusively reserved for our own eBike customers. We also have parts / spares to hand should they be required.
