Who is this bike suitable for?
The 2021 Scott Genius eRIDE 900 is the mid-spec option in the new 2021 Scott eGenius range. Built on a 150mm carbon frameset, this bike is suitable for those who wish to ride bike parks as well as their local trails. We'll spec'd for the money and a good all-rounder for those entering the eMTB market.
I instantly fell in love with the bike and the trails. Not knowing how the battery would do on its first run out I spent the first 20 miles in eco mode. This was spot on for me to be honest.

New Features
The new 2021 Scott Genuis eRIDE 900 features a full 12-Speed Sram drivetrain, twin pot Shimano disc brakes and the latest generation of Bosch eBike power system, you can see why it's popular!
The 2021 E-Genius 900 comes with a Fox Float trunnion mounted rear shock. Fully air adjustable for the rider weight, it offers a huge amount of adjustment ability on rebound and damping controls to match any terrain.
At the front of the bike, Scott supply the RockShox 35 Silver 160mm travel fork. Both front and rear suspension are adjustable by the rider by use of the handlebar lockout function (more on that below).
By locking out the front suspension you can climb with even more efficiency than ever before.
In Descend mode, the front and rear offer up a full 150mm of travel. Traction (position 2) mode ramps up compression whilst shortening rear travel to a climbing friendly 100mm. Finally, lockout mode makes easy work of those smooth fire road sprints out of the saddle, eliminating any pedal bounce and keeping your efforts on the pedals positively transferred to the rear wheel.
Scott's own 'eRIDE Range Booster' continues on the 2021 eRIDE models.
The Scott Genius eRide 900 bikes come with a Bosch PowerTube 625Wh battery neatly integrated in the frame. For those who need a bike that can easily cope with sustained runs in Turbo mode ort a bike which can take punishment in eMTB mode for a full day in the hills, owners can opt for the 'Range Booster'. Using Scott's own mounting system, a secondary 500Wh Bosch PowerPack battery is fitted onto the frame here the bottle mount would ordinarily sit.
The addition of the Range Booster increased capacity to an incredible 1125Wh!
To recharge the system, you only need one charger (either the originally shipped charger, or you can purchase an additional 6A charger for faster charge times). The Bosch system recognises and charges both batteries on the bike individually. This system is available as an optional extra on all 2021 Scott Genius eRide eMTBs purchased from us and is fitted prior to leaving us by our in-house Bosch trained technicians.
Please Note: When opting for this on S/M frames, the battery will stay in place for charging and is not removable due to the amount of frame space available. Removal is possible on L/XL frames.
If you opt for this setup our technicians will pre wire/configure your bike for the dual battery system so it's ready to roll with both batteries the moment you receive it, whether collected from us in store or shipped to you. The price is Ā£699.99 and this includes all mounting hardware, cables, harness and labour free of charge. You just pay for the battery. If you have an existing Bosch PowerPack (New style PowerTube batteries are NOT compatible) 400 or 500Wh battery you wish to use, we can prepare the cabling harness and booster mount fully fitted for just Ā£99.99.
The frame on the 2021 Scott Genius eRIDE 900 is compatible with both 27.5+ & 29" wheels. Scott's clever use of "flip chip" technology allows for a quick geometry change to retain the same bottom bracket height, regardless of wheel set used. The bike ships with 29" as standard.
"TwinLoc" - Three bikes in one!
With one lever controlling both front and rear travel and lockout, you can make on the fly adjustments with a single lever press. Switching between Descend, Traction Control and Lockout adjusts the travel between 150mm, 100mm and fully locked out.
Descend mode provides full front and rear travel and utilises the bikes full geometry for positive feedback and control.
In Traction Control mode, spring curve and damping is adjusted to match a reduced 100mm of travel. Pushing the lever one more click fully locks the suspension for ultimate pedalling efficiency, saving your energy for the technical bits!
The Scott Genius 900 2021 comes as standard with a built in dropper post. The Syncros dropper is a stealth post, with cables internally routed within the frame for protection and aesthetics. The dropper post gives the rider adjustable seat height with the flick of a switch on the handlebars.
The larger Shimano Deore MT420 twin piston brakes are from the top end of Shimano's parts shelf and offer supreme performance and modulation.
Larger twin piston brakes are a real bonus on heavier eBikes when braking downhill and the 203mm rotors increase stopping power and mean they won't overheat and suffer from extreme fade over longer descents.
Scott have equipped the Genius 900 2021 with Schwalbe Magic Mary tyres at the front combined with a Hans Dampf at the rear. The perfect combo for all round grip in most conditions. Wrapped onto custom Syncross tubeless ready rims built onto Formula Boost alloy hubs. These are exclusive the the Genius 900 2021 electric mountain bike.
The 2021 Scott Genius E-Ride 900 features Sram's new Eagle SX 12-Speed drivetrain. This new gear setup from SRAM offers an ultra-wide range ration setup.
With a whopping 10-50t cassette you can be completely confident there's no climb or descent you cant tackle!
Using a type 3 roller clutch bearing means there's a smoother torque curve for quieter more precise gear shifting too.
The new cage design on the Sram SX rear mech features a lock, which allows the rear mech to be held back when inserting/removing the rear wheel. Making any wheel removal a breeze!
The Scott Genius eRide 900 2021 is the mid spec bike, you'll notice it's the first bike in the range to feature the carbon frame, along with it's bigger brother - Genius 900 TUNED. The model below this (Genius 920) features an alloy frame. So for not much more; you get a whole more bang for buck on the new 2021 Genius eRide 900 2021 electric bike.
Bosch CX & Purion eBike System
The new 2021 Scott Genius eRIDE 900 eBike features the latest Gen 4 Bosch Performance CX crank drive motor, with a fresh software upgrade for 2021.
The 250w CX system now provides 85Nm of torque & peaks at 500w! It certainly packs a punch, it will also offer up to 340% assistance in turbo mode. Featuring 4 levels of assistance & remember you can always turn the power off and ride it as a normal bike! In addition, the new eMTB mode allows the user to set in one assistance mode and the system itself will determine the assistance offered.
Now common place on top spec Bosch systems, the 2021 Scott Genius eRIDE 900 features the new Bosch 'PowerTube' 625Wh battery. Completely integrated into the frame, Scott have neatly designed it so it can be charged both on & off the bike.
The 2021 Bosch Purion display is neat & compact. Riders can see important factors like speed, distance and battery range on the screen.

This electric bike comes fully set-up by our workshop technicians. You can be sure that every aspect of the eBike has been dialled in for optimum performance. All our electric bikes arrive with a user manual, charger & free follow up service within 3 months.
Our electric bikes also include a 5yr warranty on the frame, 2yr warranty on all the electrics & 1yr warranty on the components. In the event of a problem, we handle all warranty claims in-house. We can also offer worldwide support for customers further afield using a laptop or PC connected to the internet, combined with our diagnostic equipment.
E-bikeshop is a UK Bosch Electric Bike Service Center and our in house workshop is now exclusively reserved for our own eBike customers. We also have parts / spares to hand should they be required.
