DJI Avinox powered Amflow bikes land at E-Bikeshop
By Ben Mowbray |
"What took you so long?!" This was the first question a long term customer asked me, having been asking me on and off for a year about DJI Avinox powered bikes since they were very first touted back in early 2024. While in for a service booking last week I broke the news to him that I had just signed the contract. He's wanted one for ages, but he would only buy it from us and he couldn't be happier that his new bike is now just days away.Β
The answer isn't straightforward, but is great news for electric mountain bikers all over the UK.Β

Why were E-Bikeshop not first in the queue for the new Amflow bikes?Β
Very simple and quite common answer here - it was all about reliability of support.
Any brand new product is a risk and especially for us, because E-Bikeshop ships bikes all over the world. We have to be able to see a clear and well considered support path for our customers with a minimum level of guaranteed parts and spares available to us either for our own stock, or in less than 48 hours. This is the minimum necessary level of support we need from our manufacturers to uphold the promises we make our customers when choosing whether or not we work with a brand.Β
Anyone who has set up as business, big or small, knows it's not easy. Its expected that any new brand coming to the UK will experience teething problems, set-backs and logistical issues amongst others when getting through their first year and no-one can knock a company for this. If you want to be at the front of the queue, you have to accept the difficulties this comes with.Β

At E-Bikeshop, we prefer to wait until a manufacturer has a stable base in the UK, with a good stock holding of parts and spares and if possible, a UK based support system/team. With this, we can meet our service promise to our customers. Over the last 12 years selling just electric bikes, we've made a name for ourselves as the bar setters for support, whether a bike is 5 minutes, counties or countries away.Β
Having previously turned down DJI twice in the last 12 months, we're very pleased to say that having spent several hours easily batting off my questions, objections and reservations, DJI demonstrated a rock-solid commitment to customer experience that bears direct synergy with our own and we're very pleased to offer their bikes to our customers for the coming model year.Β
In hindsight and from speaking to others in the industry, we know we've missed out on a lot of sales because the Amflow bikes have been incredibly successful for those who did take the early plunge but both E-Bikeshop and DJI, right now, are in the best position to offer the very best DJI Amflow ownership experience.Β
Who makes Amflow bikes and how are DJI involved?Β
Amflow is a comparatively new electric mountain bike brand created by DJI, a world leader in drones and camera technology. The Amflow brand was officially unveiled in 2024, marking DJIβs ambitious entry into the e-bike market at an arguably difficult time for the industry.Β
This very bold move reflects DJIβs broader strategy to diversify into high-tech mobility and outdoor adventure sectors. Amflow launched its first bike, the PL Carbon, at Eurobike 2024, drawing attention and snatching the Design & Innovation Award 2025 for its innovative integration of DJIβs engineering expertise.Β

While DJI is new to the bike world, the Amflow project benefits from almost 20 years of experience in compact motors, sensors, and intelligent systems.
With this new brand, DJI aims to challenge established e-MTB manufacturers and redefine how performance, design, and smart technology come together in high-end electric bikes.
What is the DJI Avinox drive system and how are Amflow bikes different from everything else on the market?Β
Outright power
The DJI Avinox motor redefines whatβs possible in e-MTB performance. Delivering up to 1,000β―W peak power and 120β―Nm of torque, it combines explosive acceleration with ultra-smooth, natural pedal assist. Weighing just 2.52β―kg, it's one of the lightest full-power systems available. Intelligent features like Auto Hold, Hill Start Assist, and app-based tuning give you total control. Paired with fast charging and sleek integration, Avinox brings DJIβs innovation to every ride.
With most drive unit manufacturers sitting at around 85-90Nm, this level of power has driven an almost cult following in just 1 year of being on sale and was one of the motivators for stocking it. It offers a level of power that even Bosch, withΒ their latest 100Nm Gen 5 update, still cant touch...Β

Power toΒ weight ratio.
In the real world DJI Amflow bikes weigh in at as little as 19kg, offering the highest power to weight ratio of any UK legal electric bike on the market right now making it not just the most powerful but the quickest and this is what really matters on the trails. How fast can you get off the line? How quickly can you pick up speed before a jump?Β
Before the DJI Amflow, the highest power to weight ratio crown was worn by the Orbea Rise M-Ltd. At 16KG and with 85Nm it offers 5.31Nm per KG. By comparison, the next most common lightweight trail bike sold in the UK is the Specialized Levo SL, offering a pretty abysmal 2.7Nm per KG.Β
The DJI Avinox offers an arm stretching 6.25Nm per KG, a whopping 46% higher than the previously most powerful legal bike sold in the UK, which was the Haibike FLYON. The FLYON range also offered 120Nm, and developed a cult following of riders who wanted the higher levels of power legally available to them, but the Amflow goes one step further by coming in at a bonkers 10KG lighter!Β
What are the standout features of the DJI Amflow electric bikes?Β
Motor power aside, the DJI Avinox powered Amflow electric bikes stand on their own two feet as a forward thinking, legitimate bike brand and not just a vessel for the motor everyone wants!
Frame
The cutting-edge light weight carbon frame uses an advanced four-bar suspension linkage design, making great use of a custom tuned Fox rear shock for agile and responsive handling and weighs just a little over 2kg!

Both bikes incorporate a flip-chip, allowing owners to switch between 29" and mullet set up with ease. Every detailβfrom internal cable routing to battery accessβhas been engineered for balance, agility, and simplicity
Battery and charging
Available with either a 600Wh or 800Wh battery, the DJI Amflow bikes come with a super-fast, lightweight charger, capable of a 0-75% charge in as little as 1.5 hours and keeping you on the trail for longer. This is faster thanΒ any bike we've ever stocked!

Display and Connectivity
The 2" OLED touchscreen display offers real-time riding data as well as access to all of the settings. It also offers access to the Avinox App, which owners can use to "lock" their bike as well as receive movement alerts in the event of an attempted theft.Β

Intelligent Hill-Hold and Walk Assist.Β
The Avinox drive system includes Walk Assist, letting you push the bike uphill smoothly, and an Auto Hold feature that prevents rollback on slopes. It also offers Hill Start Assist to give a torque boost when starting on an inclineβideal for steep terrain handling.Β
How are DJI providing Amflow aftersales support to UK owners?
The DJI Amflow bikes are being distributed through their already established DJI products network in the UK. Not only does this mean they already have warehouse space for the bikes and spares, but they're also available quickly, which is the most important thing for us.Β
This commitment by DJI to supporting the UK market with its own dedicated support is one of the major factors in our decision to sign with them.Β
How will E-Bikeshop be supporting its DJI Amflow electric bike owners?Β
Business as usual!Β
E-Bikeshop has always been committed to holding stock of the most commonly required parts and spares in direct stock for the bikes we sell and our bike customers will still be able to book into our workshop where our industry leading technicians will have your bike serviced or repaired and back to you on a "while you wait" basis in almost all cases.Β
Where there are any dips in supply of components, as with other brands, they'll become "restricted parts" on our website, and only available to customers who've purchased a bike directly from us so that we can safeguard the speed of support for those who invest in a new DJI Amflow bike.Β
Physical support aside, you can still contact our team of genuine ebike experts during business hours via email, phone, Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp and they're always happy to help with any query you have about your bike.Β
