Haibike xDuro FS AMT 2014 Electric Bike Overview

The FS AMT electric bike is a tough hitting all mountain / enduro / free ride ebike. Built with larger travel for ultimate comfortability for off road riding.

The xDuro Haibike FS AM (All Mountain) 26 2014 eBike is a full suspension mountain bike built to hit rougher terrain. Its a bit of a do-it-all eBike. Its light enough to use on lighter cross country courses. But also sturdy enough to take out to some of the more aggressive tail centres and has the option to lock out the front and rear suspension so that it doesn't struggle with climbing or use on the road. The Rock Shox Monarch rear shock uses all of its 140mm travel to take the strain out of your ride. It has a rebound adjuster and 3 levels of lock-out. You can set it to fully locked out for the climbing or use on the road. The other extreme is fully unlocked for when your putting the bike through its paces. The best setting for me personally is the 'Pedal' position where it remains locked when pedalling but open under impact.

This means you can be thrashing the bike about with minimum energy loss but in the event of riding over some bumps it will still give in and take the strain. Both the front and rear suspension are oil dampened which gives a smooth feel when riding. They are both air adjustable too so the rider can easily set the shocks up to their riding style and rider weight. As with the rear shock the front suspension can be locked out too. Meaning minimal energy loss when climbing, this is done remotely front he handle bars so you can lock and un-lock on the fly. The Rock Shox Revelation RL forks are very special indeed, you can toggle between 120mm up to 150mm of travel whilst riding. This is brilliant because it is effectively two sets of forks in one. Meaning if you are sticking to the lighter trails or the road you can drop it to 120mm of travel. As soon as you hit the rougher stuff. One click and its back up to 150mm!

You might recall I bought a Haibike from you last month. First things first: it is a fantastic bike, like riding a cross between an agile mountain bike and a motorised trials bike. The xDuro FS AMT 2014 features Magura MT2 hydraulic disc brakes on larger 180mm front and 203mm rear rotors so it has ample stopping power. Full Shimano gear system which are SLX / Deore grade components for smooth shifting even under load. The rear derailier incorporates the clutch design mechanism for good chain tension and snappy gear changes, more on that can be read on my previous blog post here.

The wheels consist of quality DT Swiss double wall alloy rims, built on Sram disc hubs and finished off with DT Swiss premium spokes. Both front and back wheels are through axles which give much stiffer response and less flex than a quick release. The through axles are a lot thicker/stronger and can both be easily removed if you need to take the wheel out. To grip these to the terrain Haibike have opted for 26" Schwalbe Fat Albert Evolution tyres. These are top of the range tyres, they are also tubeless compatible should you wish to convert.

The Haibike FS All Mountain incorporates the Bosch crank drive eBike system. Haibike is the only manufacturer to invert the motor 180 degrees up out the way so it is built in within the frame work, this means its tucked up out the way. I have written a whole new post about this here. The FS AMT features the 400Wh power pack from Bosch which gives up to a 110 mile range on Eco mode.
